A Life on the Sea

“Wherever we want to go, we go. That’s what a ship is, you know. It’s not just a keel and a hull and sails; that’s what a ship needs. Not what a ship is. What the Black Pearl really is, is freedom.”

-Captain Jack Sparrow

I have always been drawn to the water.  As far as I can recall I have had an interest in the sea, maritime culture, and boats.  Within the next few years it is my intent to realize another dream of mine.  I shall acquire a boat and I shall perhaps even endeavor to live aboard said boat.

I have given this plan some thought recently as my residence in Philadelphia nears it’s end.  I have spent over ten years in this city and it will be time to move on.  I could stay, but there’s no real reason for me to.  Next year I will leave Whiskey Manor and travel back north to New England.  And for a time I will reside in my home since birth.  While there I will move forward with trying to find a proper vessel.  Right now I am looking for something in the 45-50 foot range like a Vagabond 47 or Force 50.
